Opening Introductions
Use the website as a method for guiding the opening. Do not read everything verbatim. There are some key things you want to discuss.
- Discuss (without presenting) what we identified from the tech audit. Have 5 clear points and supporting data you will discuss. State how it impacts their audience and strategic objectives.
Tip: Spend as much time as possible looking directly into the camera.
The Conversation
The website is the hub central of their digital landscape. Is it easy to navigate? Is it clean in look and feel? Does it represent the “quality” of the products or owners? Is it the main sales platform of the company?
Ask questions here. The goal is for the client to realize where there digital products support their strategic objectives. In some cases, allow the client to realize that they don’t have the control/understanding they might have thought. This is often the first “proof” they need support changes in their digital assets.
-
- Does your website tell the story you want?
- After the tech audit… how would you grade your website now?
Tip: 50% talking and 50% listening. You can’t discover if you are doing all the talking. Get them to engage. Do not use Acronyms. Do not use marketing terms unless you define them. Do not repeat a phrase or word over and over.
